JAMMU, Aug 15: Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Pharmacy celebrated India’s 80th Independence Day with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervoUr on August 15, 2026.
The event was marked by a series of activities and programs centered around this year’s theme, “Yuva Shakti for Viksit Bharat@2047” and “150 Years of Vande Mataram”symbolizing the vision of a developed and progressive India.
The celebrations began with the hoisting of the National Flag by Ayush Katoch (Director) along with Dr. Gourav Nanda (Principal). The event was successfully anchored by Atif Ur Rehman (Faculty RGIP) and witnessed the participation of faculty members, students and staff, who gathered to pay tribute to the nation and its freedom fighters.
The national anthem echoed across the campus, instilling a sense of pride and unity among all present.
In his address, Ayush Katoch emphasized the significance of the theme and the role of educational institutions like the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Pharmacy in shaping the future of the youth of the nation. He encouraged students to work towards the development of the country through innovation, research, and commitment to excellence in their respective fields.
The program also featured cultural performances by students, including patriotic songs, dances, and a skit highlighting India’s journey towards becoming a developed nation.
The Principal of the Institute, Dr. Gourav Nanda spoke about the importance of nurturing young minds to contribute to the nation’s progress. He reiterated the institute’s dedication to providing quality education and research opportunities, aligning with the vision of a “Viksit Bharat”
The event concluded with a vote of thanks, and the distribution of sweets among the attendees. The celebration of Independence Day at the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Pharmacy not only honored the sacrifices of the past but also looked forward to a brighter, developed, and prosperous India.
The programme was successfully organized with the support of Sanjali, Imtiyaz, Varun Singh, Dilbagh Singh, Rakesh, Rushal Manhas, Sain Dass, Dinesh, along with other members who were present at the ceremony.
