The Max surgical team lead by Dr. Anupam Goel, principal consultant-general surgery, planned laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy, a weight-loss surgery that reduces the size of the stomach was performed, using minimally invasive laparoscopic approach. The procedure involved removing a portion of the stomach to create a smaller, sleeve-shaped stomach. Despite all challenges, the surgery was completed successfully.
Dr. Goel said, “Cases like this highlight how often severe obesity goes unaddressed until it reaches a critical stage. We urge people struggling with uncontrolled weight gain to seek timely medical consultation rather than wait, as early intervention makes both surgery and recovery significantly safer.”
The patient recovered well post-surgery and was discharged in a stable condition after three days.
