Abdul Quddir Kundria’s efforts to provide free Dogri books to school libraries appreciated

REASI, Sep 29: The initiative of social worker, writer and poet Abdul Quddir Kundria to provide free Dogri books to school libraries in different areas of district Reasi is being widely appreciated. The initiative aims to promote Dogri language and literature and make books by renowned Dogri writers and poets accessible to students, particularly in far-flung areas.

As part of the ongoing initiative, Dogri books have been provided today for the library of Government Middle School Mansoo, Reasi. The books have been made available with the support of Dogri Sanstha Jammu, with the objective of ensuring that students in remote areas also have access to quality literature within their own school libraries.

Despite his busy schedule, Abdul Quddir Kundria has been visiting different areas of district Reasi and facilitating the distribution of books to school libraries. The books, written by well-known poets and writers of Dogri literature and provided by Dogri Sanstha Jammu, are being distributed free of cost. The initiative is expected to continue in the coming days.

In a press statement, Abdul Quddir Kundria said that after receiving the books from Dogri Sanstha Jammu, his effort has been to ensure that they reach the libraries of schools under the School Education Department so that students can benefit from them.

He said that books in Dogri and other languages are often not easily available in far-flung areas. Making such books available in school libraries will provide students an opportunity to read and learn within their own schools without having to travel elsewhere in search of books.

Abdul Quddir Kundria also expressed his appreciation for the cooperation extended by the teaching staff and students of the schools where books have already been distributed. He said that school staff have welcomed the initiative and have shown great enthusiasm in receiving the books for the benefit of their students.

He further said that, along with the distribution of books, an important message is also being conveyed to students in coordination with the school staff: to stay away from drugs and protect their lives from substance abuse, so that young people can build a healthy and productive future and contribute towards a peaceful and prosperous society.

The local people have appreciated the initiative and expressed their gratitude to Abdul Quddir Kundria and Dogri Sanstha Jammu for making Dogri books available free of cost in school libraries. They also welcomed the efforts of the School Education Department in supporting access to educational and literary resources for students in remote areas.

The people said that the availability of such books in school libraries is a welcome step, particularly for students living in far-flung areas where access to books and literary resources is limited.

They appealed to Dogri Sanstha Jammu and the School Education Department to continue and expand the initiative so that more books, including books in other languages, can be made available in school libraries. They said that such efforts would encourage the habit of reading among students and provide them with greater opportunities to learn, explore literature and broaden their knowledge.
