JAMMU, Sep 29: The Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party (JKAP) has appointed Tableen Beporari as the Provincial President of the Apni Party Students Union with immediate effect, in a move aimed at strengthening the party’s organisational presence among students and expanding its outreach across Jammu and Kashmir. The appointment was made by JKAP Jammu Province President Manjit Singh with the consent and approval of Apni Party President Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari.
The party said the appointment is intended to further strengthen the organisational structure of the Students Union and expand its presence among students across the Union Territory. The move is also being seen as an effort to provide greater space to the younger generation within the party’s organisational framework.
Speaking on the appointment, Manjit Singh said students constitute an important section of society and their aspirations, concerns and ideas need to be given adequate representation in public and democratic discourse. He said the Apni Party Students Union would work towards establishing a stronger connect with students in colleges, universities and other educational institutions, while providing them a platform to raise issues concerning education, employment, career opportunities, skill development and other matters affecting their future.
Manjit Singh said the appointment of Tableen Beporari, with the approval of party president Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari, reflects the party leadership’s commitment to strengthening its student and youth outreach. He said young people should not merely be viewed as supporters of political organisations but should be encouraged to become active participants in public life and contribute their ideas and perspectives to matters concerning Jammu and Kashmir.
Manjit Singh claimed a strong and active student organisation can serve as an important link between the party and the younger generation. He expressed confidence that Beporari would work with dedication to expand the Students Union at the grassroots level and establish regular interaction with students across the region. He also emphasised the need for the student wing to remain focused on genuine student issues and work in a constructive manner to highlight their concerns before the appropriate forums.
The appointment of Tableen Beporari is expected to provide fresh momentum to the organisational activities of the Apni Party Students Union and accelerate its expansion among students across Jammu and Kashmir. With a dedicated provincial leadership in place, the Students Union is likely to intensify its engagement with students through organisational programmes, interactions and outreach activities. The move could also help the party develop a more structured channel of communication with the student community and understand issues emerging at educational institutions.
The appointment assumes significance in the context of the growing need for greater youth participation in public affairs. Students and young people constitute a substantial section of Jammu and Kashmir’s population, with issues such as education, employment, skill development, professional opportunities and career security remaining among their key concerns. The party leadership believes that a stronger student wing can help create opportunities for young people to participate in democratic processes and develop organisational and leadership experience.
The appointment is also expected to strengthen the Apni Party’s grassroots outreach by bringing its student organisation closer to educational institutions and the younger generation. It could provide a platform for identifying emerging youth leaders and encouraging their participation in public and organisational activities.
The Apni Party said the objective behind strengthening the Students Union is not limited to organisational expansion but also to create a meaningful platform where students can articulate their concerns, share their ideas and participate in activities concerning the larger interests of society. As Provincial President, Tableen Beporari will be responsible for coordinating the activities of the Students Union and working towards expanding its organisational network across Jammu and Kashmir.
The party expressed confidence that the new leadership would strengthen the Students Union, increase its engagement with students and contribute towards building a stronger organisational connect between the Apni Party and the younger generation.
