JAMMU, May 29: Jammu Ram Leela Club on Friday announced the organisation of a grand “Vishal Dangal” to be held on May 31, 2026, at 4:00 PM at Nageshwar Temple Ground, Rani Talab, Digiana. The announcement was made during a press conference held at Nageshwar Temple, attended by members and office-bearers of the Club.
Addressing the media, Jammu Ram Leela Club President Shashi Mehra extended a warm invitation to the people of Jammu to participate in large numbers and make the event a success. He said that the Vishal Dangal is not only a traditional wrestling competition but also a significant social initiative aimed at encouraging youth participation in sports and healthy activities.
Mehra stated that the programme is dedicated to supporting the vision of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha for a “Drug-Free Jammu and Kashmir.” He emphasized that sports play a vital role in keeping young people away from drug abuse and guiding them towards discipline, fitness and constructive social engagement.
Highlighting the activities of the Club since its establishment last year, Mehra said that Jammu Ram Leela Club has been actively involved in organising Ram Leela programmes, conducting Hanuman Chalisa groups, carrying out sewa activities and undertaking various social welfare initiatives for the community.
He also spoke about the Club’s humanitarian efforts, particularly its free mattress service provided to bereaved families during times of loss. Besides this initiative, the Club has continued to serve society through various religious and charitable activities.
Mehra informed that several distinguished personalities from different fields are expected to grace the occasion. Gangadhar Maharaj Ji will attend the programme as the Chief Guest. Other prominent dignitaries likely to be present include Jugal Kishore Sharma, Sat Paul Sharma, Vikram Randhawa, Arun Gupta, Neeraj Anand, Dr. Bharat Bhushan and Kulbushan Khajuria.
The members of Jammu Ram Leela Club appealed to citizens from all walks of life to attend the Vishal Dangal and contribute to making the event a grand success while promoting the message of sportsmanship, social harmony and a drug-free society.
