Army leads multi-location awareness drive under Nasha Mukt Abhiyan in Poonch & Rajouri

POONCH/RAJOURI, May 14: As part of the ongoing Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyan, a series of awareness activities were conducted by the Indian Army at Lassana, Bailla Haribudha, Tender Feet School (TFS) Keri and Samote across Poonch & Rajouri on 13 & 14 May 2026 to spread awareness against drug abuse and promote a healthy, addiction-free society.

At Lassana Army Camp, an Awareness Meeting with AWAM was organised by the Indian Army, witnessing participation of 30 local residents, youth, community elders and representatives. The interaction focused on the harmful effects of narcotics, the role of families and society and the need for collective vigilance to protect youth from substance abuse.

At Bailla & Haribudha, Poonch a door-to-door awareness and poster distribution campaign was conducted, wherein Indian Army personnel interacted with families and educated them on the physical, mental, social and economic consequences of drug abuse. Anti-drug posters carrying awareness messages, helpline information and motivational slogans were distributed and displayed at prominent locations.

At TFS Keri, Rajouri a poster-making competition on anti-drug themes was organised with participation of 58 students, including 33 boys, 25 girls and 05 teachers. Students expressed strong messages against drug abuse through creative posters, highlighting healthy lifestyles, discipline and positive choices.

At Samote, Poonch students of New Sher-e-Kashmir National Academy launched a social media awareness campaign using platforms such as Facebook, Instagram and X to spread anti-drug messages, digital posters and awareness content among youth and families.

These initiatives were widely appreciated by locals, teachers and students. The activities reaffirmed the Indian Army’s commitment towards community welfare, youth empowerment, social awareness and building a drug-free Jammu & Kashmir through sustained public participation.
