Shagun Parihar seeks early execution of PMGSY road projects in Kishtwar

NEW DELHI, Jun 14: MLA Kishtwar Shagun Parihar called on Union Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Shivraj Singh Chouhan in New Delhi and sought his urgent intervention for the early execution of several road projects sanctioned under PMGSY-IV, Batch-II (2025-26) in Kishtwar district.

During the meeting, Shagun Parihar apprised the Union Minister about delays in the commencement of work on a number of approved PMGSY road projects despite receiving official sanction. She highlighted that many of the affected areas are remote, underdeveloped and strategically important, where improved road connectivity is essential for socio-economic growth, public welfare and effective administrative outreach.

The MLA specifically raised the issue of pending execution of key road projects, including Chatter Bridge to Ohli via Batkoot, Chatter Bridge to Potinag Khai Lorass, Bhatkoot to Haddar, Kandni Ohli Road to Prishmulla, Chamoti Road to Naki and Shanna to Aryagaam, besides several other sanctioned roads awaiting implementation.

Shagun Parihar emphasized that better road connectivity would significantly improve access to healthcare facilities, educational institutions, government services and emergency assistance for residents living in far-flung areas. She stated that timely completion of these projects would accelerate development activities and enhance the quality of life of people residing in remote villages of Kishtwar district.

Responding positively to the concerns raised by the MLA, Shivraj Singh Chouhan assured her that the matter would be examined on priority and that necessary directions would be issued to the concerned authorities for expediting the implementation process. He reiterated the Government of India’s commitment to strengthening rural infrastructure and ensuring inclusive development in remote and underserved regions.

Expressing gratitude to the Union Minister for his patient hearing and positive response, Shagun Parihar said that early execution of the sanctioned road projects would not only improve connectivity but also create fresh opportunities for economic growth, employment generation and tourism development in Kishtwar.

She reaffirmed her commitment to pursuing key infrastructure initiatives and ensuring that the benefits of government welfare and development schemes reach every corner of the constituency, particularly remote and underserved areas that continue to face connectivity challenges.
