SRINAGAR, Jun 19: The three-day national event “Rise in Jammu & Kashmir 2026 – Building the Path Towards Viksit Bharat @ 2047” concluded on a high note at the Sher-i-Kashmir International Convention Centre (SKICC), Srinagar, after drawing an overwhelming response from government departments, public sector undertakings, educational institutions, industry representatives, entrepreneurs, researchers, students and members of the public.
The event emerged as a vibrant platform showcasing the transformative developmental initiatives being undertaken across Jammu and Kashmir and highlighted the Union Territory’s growing contribution towards India’s vision of becoming a developed nation by 2047.
On the concluding day, Ghulam Ali Khatana, Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha), felicitated participating departments, organisations and institutions for their valuable contribution in making the event a grand success. Addressing the gathering, Khatana appreciated the efforts of all stakeholders in presenting innovative projects, citizen-centric schemes, technological advancements and developmental achievements before the people.
He said such platforms help bridge the gap between government initiatives and citizens while encouraging young people to actively participate in innovation, entrepreneurship and nation-building. He emphasized that collaboration between government, industry and academia is essential for achieving the vision of Viksit Bharat @ 2047.
A special award ceremony was also organised to recognise the best exhibition stalls on the basis of innovation, public engagement, presentation and overall impact. The Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) secured the first prize, while the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) won the second prize. The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) was awarded the third prize for its outstanding exhibition and public outreach efforts.
The award-winning organisations were commended for effectively showcasing their contributions towards scientific advancement, quality standards, agricultural innovation and national development.
The exhibition featured participation from several prestigious institutions and organisations, including NHPC, BIS, ICMR, ISRO, CSIR, ICAR, APEDA, Indian Railways, IRCTC, Survey of India, POWERGRID, HURL, NFL, NBCC, REC, NTPC, TRIFED, National Jute Board, NAFED, Department of Atomic Energy, Tea Board, JAKEDA, DC Handloom and several other national-level agencies.
During the three-day programme, thousands of students, researchers, aspiring entrepreneurs and citizens visited the exhibition and interacted with experts. Visitors gained valuable insights into government welfare schemes, technological innovations, employment opportunities, skill development programmes and research initiatives being implemented across various sectors.
The successful conclusion of Rise in Jammu & Kashmir 2026 marked another important step towards strengthening collaboration among government institutions, industry, academia and society. The event reinforced the vision of a progressive, innovative and self-reliant Jammu and Kashmir contributing meaningfully to India’s developmental journey.
The event was organised by Tarmeh Events under the guidance of MP Rajya Sabha Ghulam Ali Khatana and witnessed active participation from numerous central ministries, government departments, public sector organisations, educational institutions and research bodies from across the country.
