SRINAGAR, Nov 4 (Agencies): Independent MLA from Surankote, Chowdhary Mohammed Akram, on Wednesday categorically dismissed reports suggesting differences with the Omar Abdullah-led government, asserting that he remains firmly committed to supporting the ruling dispensation.
Akram said reports linking him to alleged political disagreements were baseless and that he had neither withdrawn his support nor reconsidered his position.
“I stand firmly with the government, and there is no question of going back on my promises. It is very unfortunate that some media houses are unnecessarily dragging my name into matters with which I have absolutely no connection,” Akram said.
The Surankote legislator said his political position remained unchanged and that attempts to portray him as being at odds with the government were misleading.
He maintained that there was no disagreement or disassociation on his part with the Omar Abdullah-led government.
Akram reiterated that he would continue to stand by his commitments, making it clear that reports suggesting otherwise did not reflect his position.
