SRINAGAR, Jun 30 (Agencies): The Jammu and Kashmir government is mulling to announce the summer vacation for schools across Kashmir in the second week of July.
In an exclusive conversation with Greater Kashmir from New Delhi, minister for education, Sakina Itoo said the department was planning to announce the summer vacations for schools from second week of July.
“The final date has not be selected. We will select a date and take a final decision once I return from New Delhi,” Sakina Itoo told Greater Kashmir.
She also urged students and parents not to pay any heed to rumours being circulated on social media platforms.
“The message which is being circulated in what’sapp groups and other social media platforms is fake. We will announce the decision officially,” she said.
While the government is yet to announce the vacation for schools, the office of the Regional Transport Officer in a public advisory asked people to avoid office visits citing heatwave.
