MLA Shah inaugurates work; residents raise local issues
KULGAM, Sep 19: MLA Devsar Peerzada Feroze Ahmad Shah on Saturday inaugurated the macadamisation work on the Gundipora road leading to Berigam in the Devsar area of Kulgam.
The MLA was warmly welcomed by local residents, who expressed gratitude to him and the Roads and Buildings (R&B) Department, Kulgam, for taking up the long-pending road improvement work. The macadamisation is expected to improve road connectivity and provide better transportation facilities to residents of the area.
Senior officers of the R&B Department, including the Superintending Engineer (SE), Executive Engineer (ExEn) and Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE), R&B Devsar, besides other officials, were present during the inauguration.
Later, Peerzada Feroze Ahmad Shah held a public interaction meeting in the village, where residents apprised him of various issues concerning the area. The residents sought timely intervention and early resolution of their demands.
The MLA gave a patient hearing to the concerns raised by the residents and assured them that their genuine issues would be taken up on priority with the concerned departments. He also assured the gathering that necessary efforts would be made to address the issues through appropriate administrative channels.
The residents appreciated the MLA’s visit and the commencement of the road macadamisation work, while expressing hope that the ongoing development initiatives would further improve infrastructure and basic facilities in the area.
