SRINAGAR, Aug 1: A grand youth convention organized by the Bharat Tibet Sahyog Manch (BTSM) was held on Saturday at Hotel Marhaba, Srinagar, under the chairmanship of Mushtaq Ahmad Khanday, State Secretary of BTSM for Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from a large number of local youth and marked a significant organizational development as several political workers from different political parties, including the National Conference (NC) and the Apni Party, formally joined the Bharat Tibet Sahyog Manch. The new members expressed their commitment to strengthening the organization and working for the cause of national unity, cultural heritage, and public awareness.
Addressing the gathering, Mushtaq Ahmad Khanday strongly criticized the National Conference-led government for failing to fulfil the aspirations of the people, particularly the youth, and for not adequately addressing issues related to employment, development, and public welfare in the region.
The programme was jointly organized by Tariq Ahmad Bhat, District Youth President, Anantnag, and Zuhaib Naik, District President, Srinagar. During the meeting, all workers and supporters were urged to celebrate the forthcoming Independence Day with patriotic fervour by hoisting the National Flag at their homes and participating in local celebrations.
On the occasion, Dr. Vivek Sharma, President of Bharat Tibet Sahyog Manch, Jammu, Kashmir & Ladakh UT, and National Co-Convener of the Intellectual Forum, conveyed his message, stating:
“As India celebrates its Independence Day, every citizen should reaffirm the ideals of national unity, cultural pride, and national sovereignty. Kailash Mansarovar is not merely a sacred pilgrimage destination but an integral part of India’s ancient civilizational and spiritual heritage. The Bharat Tibet Sahyog Manch remains committed to creating awareness among the youth about the significance of Kailash Mansarovar and Tibet while inspiring them to contribute towards building a strong, united, and self-reliant India. Let Independence Day be an occasion to renew our collective resolve to safeguard our national interests and preserve our timeless cultural legacy.”
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks and a collective pledge by all participants to strengthen the organization, promote national integration, and actively participate in forthcoming awareness campaigns and patriotic programmes across Jammu & Kashmir.
