SRINAGAR, Aug 22 (Agencies): The body of an 18-year-old Srinagar youth who went missing while bathing in Nallah Sindh was recovered in the Kangan area of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Saturday, officials said.
The deceased was identified as Danish Bilal, son of Bilal Ahmad Hajam, a resident of Srinagar.
An official said that Bilal had been bathing in Nallah Sindh near the dumping park at Kijpara on Friday when he drowned and went missing.
Following the incident, police, personnel of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and local residents launched a search operation to locate him.
After nearly two days of efforts, his body was recovered from the water body near Prang in Kangan, the official said.
Police have initiated an investigation into the incident. The body will be handed over to the family after completion of the medico-legal formalities, officials said.
