SRINAGAR, Jul 3: The Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra administration has issued an important advisory for pilgrims, urging them to undertake the pilgrimage only after completing advance registration and strictly adhere to their allotted travel dates to ensure safety and smooth management of the annual pilgrimage.
According to the advisory, the Hon’ble Supreme Court has fixed a maximum daily limit on the number of pilgrims permitted on the Yatra route. The administration said strict compliance with this ceiling is mandatory to safeguard pilgrims and facilitate the orderly conduct of the pilgrimage.
The administration noted that advance registration for the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026 was opened well before the commencement of the pilgrimage through designated bank branches across the country and online platforms, enabling a large number of devotees to complete the process in advance.
Officials clarified that the availability of Tatkal (on-the-spot) registration is extremely limited and cannot accommodate the large number of unregistered pilgrims arriving in Jammu and Kashmir. Pilgrims have been advised to travel only after securing advance registration and to wait for the date allotted by the administration.
The advisory further stated that several registered pilgrims have been reaching Jammu and Kashmir before their scheduled travel date. The administration has made it clear that no pilgrim will be permitted to proceed on the Yatra before the date mentioned in their registration and has urged devotees to strictly follow the allotted schedule.
Pilgrims who have already arrived in Jammu and Kashmir without valid registration have also been requested to remain patient and wait for their turn. The administration assured devotees that every registered pilgrim will be given an opportunity to undertake the sacred Yatra in accordance with the prescribed procedure and the daily carrying capacity fixed for the pilgrimage.
Appealing for public cooperation, the administration urged all pilgrims to maintain discipline, follow official guidelines and cooperate with authorities to ensure a safe, orderly and successful Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026 for everyone.
