JAMMU, Sep 3: BJP MLA from Jammu East constituency Yudhvir Sethi held his weekly Janta Darbar at the BJP office, Kachi Chawni, where he interacted directly with residents and listened to their grievances concerning civic amenities and other public issues.
Janta Darbar provided people an opportunity to place their concerns before their elected representative, who discussed the issues with concerned functionaries and assured the people that necessary steps would be taken for their early resolution.
A large number of residents, party workers and local representatives attended the Darbar and apprised the MLA of problems being faced in their respective areas. The issues raised included concerns related to roads, sanitation, drainage, electricity, water supply, streetlights and other basic civic facilities.
Speaking on the occasion, Yudhvir Sethi said that regular public interaction was an important part of his commitment towards responsive and people-centric governance.
“Janta Darbar is an important platform for listening directly to the people and understanding their problems. My commitment is to ensure that every genuine grievance receives due attention and that every possible effort is made to provide timely solutions,” Sethi said.
He maintained that public service was not limited to the Assembly but required continuous engagement with people at the grassroots level. He said efforts would continue to ensure that civic and developmental concerns raised by residents were taken up with the concerned departments.
Sethi reiterated that strengthening basic infrastructure and ensuring effective civic services remained among his priorities. He said that regular interaction with residents helped identify local problems more effectively and facilitated their follow-up with the concerned agencies.
He assured the public that the “Janta Darbar” initiative would continue as part of his effort to remain accessible to people and work towards resolving their genuine concerns through coordinated action with the administration.
Ex-Corporator Suneet Raina was also present during the Janta Darbar and interacted with the people.
Later, Sethi met a deputation from Jagti, Kamini, Nagrota, led by Ravi Singh and his team, at his office in Jammu East. The delegation apprised the MLA of issues concerning the repair and improvement of two lanes and drains in the area.
After hearing the delegation, Sethi assured them that the matter would be taken up on priority with the concerned authorities. He said efforts would be made to ensure that the required works were executed at the earliest to provide relief to residents.
