‘We will do it’ reflects India’s confidence, collective resolve: Adv Devraj

JAMMU, Oct 7: Senior BJP leader and former Sarpanch Adv. Devraj Sharma today said Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call of “We Will Do It” has the potential to generate a new wave of confidence, optimism and collective determination among Indians, particularly the youth, farmers, entrepreneurs and people living in the border and strategically important regions of Jammu and Kashmir.

Reacting to Prime Minister Modi’s address at the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Sabha in New Delhi, Sharma said the slogan is not merely a political statement but a call for collective national action aimed at transforming India into a developed nation by 2047.

He said the Prime Minister’s emphasis that 140 crore Indians together will build a developed India carries a powerful message that the responsibility of nation-building cannot be confined to the government alone. Every citizen, he added, has a role in strengthening the economy, improving social infrastructure, promoting innovation and ensuring that the benefits of development reach every section of society.

“The most inspiring aspect of ‘We Will Do It’ is the confidence behind these words. India is no longer looking at its future with hesitation; it is looking ahead with determination. This confidence will particularly inspire our young generation to believe that goals once considered impossible can be achieved through hard work, discipline, innovation and collective effort,” Sharma said.

He said the Prime Minister’s reference to India’s achievements in reducing poverty, expanding infrastructure and strengthening its economic capabilities demonstrates that large-scale transformation is possible when policy initiatives are combined with sustained implementation.

Sharma said the message of Viksit Bharat 2047 has special relevance for Jammu and Kashmir, which has witnessed significant changes in infrastructure, connectivity, tourism, digital services and development initiatives in recent years. He said the people of Jammu and Kashmir have enormous potential and can make a major contribution to India’s journey towards becoming a developed economy.

“Jammu and Kashmir is not merely a strategically important part of India; it is also a region of immense human, natural, tourism, agricultural and entrepreneurial potential. The confidence generated by the ‘We Will Do It’ vision should reach our villages, border areas, youth, farmers, traders, students and aspiring entrepreneurs,” Sharma said.

He maintained that development must be inclusive and should address the genuine requirements of ordinary people. Referring to the Prime Minister’s observation that lack of irrigation affects farmers irrespective of caste and that electricity shortages create darkness for everyone, Sharma said development has to rise above social divisions.

He said the message is particularly relevant to Jammu and Kashmir, where people across communities share common aspirations for better roads, reliable power, irrigation, employment, education, healthcare, tourism opportunities and modern infrastructure.

Sharma said the Prime Minister’s vision of India becoming a top-three economy, a global manufacturing hub and a self-reliant nation can create new opportunities for the country’s youth. He said the reference to Indian aviation and the example of Captain Smit Machchhar should also encourage confidence in India’s human capital.

“The day is not far when the world will increasingly look towards India not only for talented professionals but also for Indian-designed and Indian-manufactured aircraft, advanced technology and innovative products. This is the India that our youth must prepare to build,” he said.

According to Sharma, Aatmanirbhar Bharat, Make in India, digital innovation, start-ups, manufacturing and indigenous defence production can collectively create an ecosystem in which young Indians become job creators, innovators and global competitors. He said Jammu and Kashmir’s youth should be provided greater exposure to such opportunities through skill development, entrepreneurship, technology education and improved connectivity.

Sharma particularly welcomed the Prime Minister’s statement that India may have challenges but also has 140 crore solutions. He said this approach transforms the national conversation from merely discussing problems to identifying the country’s enormous capacity to solve them.

“India’s greatest strength is its people. When 140 crore citizens develop confidence in their own capabilities, no challenge can remain insurmountable. The ‘We Will Do It’ spirit should become a national mindset—whether the objective is economic growth, poverty reduction, technological advancement, self-reliance, infrastructure development or global leadership,” he said.

Sharma also expressed appreciation for the Prime Minister’s acknowledgement of the contribution of BJP workers, colleagues and democratic institutions during his long public life.He said the completion of 25 years as head of government is an occasion to reflect not only on political milestones but also on the changing aspirations of the country.

The senior BJP leader said the message for Jammu and Kashmir should be equally clear: the region must move confidently from the challenges of the past towards greater economic opportunity, social harmony, modern infrastructure and participation in India’s development journey.

“‘We Will Do It’ should now become the voice of every Indian household, every village, every young person and every citizen who dreams of a stronger and more prosperous India. For Jammu and Kashmir too, it should become a call to believe in our potential and contribute with determination to the making of Viksit Bharat by 2047,” Sharma said.

He expressed confidence that the collective energy of India’s people, combined with visionary policies, technological advancement and hard work, would enable the country to achieve increasingly ambitious national goals by 2047.
