JAMMU, Jul 31: An unidentified man, believed to be around 30 to 35 years of age, died after being struck by the Andaman Express (Train No. 19788) on the intervening night of July 30 and 31 in the jurisdiction of the Government Railway Police (GRP), Jammu.
According to officials, the incident occurred at around 12:40 a.m. near Railway Track Kilometer 94.8, where the man was hit by the moving train and died on the spot. Acting on the directions of the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Railways, Jammu, the body was shifted to the Government Medical College (GMC), Jammu, for postmortem examination and identification.
The deceased is described as a wheatish-complexioned male, approximately 5 feet 4 inches tall, aged between 30 and 35 years. At the time of the incident, he was wearing blue jeans, a checked shirt and sandals.

Police have urged citizens to come forward with any relevant information that may help establish the identity of the deceased and facilitate further legal proceedings. Investigation into the incident is underway.
