JAMMU, Sep 1: Traders and residents on Tuesday intensified their opposition to the proposed flyover project connecting Amphalla, New Plot, Janipur and Roopnagar, with Mission Statehood president Sunil Dimple leading a protest rally in Jammu.
During the protest, demonstrators burnt effigies of the government and agencies associated with the proposed construction, expressing strong resentment over the ongoing soil testing, demarcation, measurements, design and tendering process for the flyover.
Addressing the gathering, Dimple demanded that the government place all details of the project in the public domain, including the tender awarded, agency executing the work and the proposed map and design. He also sought clarity on how the authorities proposed to accommodate and compensate the thousands of trader.
