JAMMU, Jul 19: Team TNWS Jammu on Sunday organised its fourth consecutive camp for the issuance of Senior Citizens’ Health/Vay Bandan Cards at subsidised rates for the residents of Trikuta Nagar. The initiative witnessed an encouraging response from senior citizens and local residents.
Rajinder P. Kakkar, President of the Trikuta Nagar Welfare Society (Regd.), welcomed the guests and residents attending the camp. During the programme, Vay Bandan Cards were distributed to eligible senior citizens, enabling them to avail themselves of healthcare-related benefits under the scheme.
After the conclusion of the camp, Team TNWS held a review meeting to discuss several pressing civic issues affecting the residents of Trikuta Nagar. The participants unanimously resolved to take up these concerns with the concerned authorities of the Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory through both print and electronic media.
One of the major issues highlighted was the growing menace of stray dogs, with residents expressing concern over frequent dog-biting incidents in the locality. The meeting suggested that the authorities establish fenced shelter areas for stray dogs in every ward, where animal lovers could feed and care for them. It was also recommended that the authorities maintain proper records of the stray dog population to facilitate effective management.
Another major concern raised was the worsening car parking problem in various sectors and lanes of Trikuta Nagar. Residents pointed out that many households own multiple vehicles without having adequate parking space within their premises, leading to traffic congestion and inconvenience. The participants urged policymakers to frame regulations linking vehicle ownership with available residential parking space. They also demanded the construction of a multi-level parking complex in Trikuta Nagar and suggested introducing a nominal monthly pass system for residents to ensure systematic parking.
Among those who participated in the camp and meeting were Anil Sharma, Vijay Gupta, Advocate Harshvardhan Gupta, Sandeep Sharma, Kewal Sher, Deepak Mehra, Partap Singh, and Som Nath Kaul, along with a large number of local residents.
The Trikuta Nagar Welfare Society reaffirmed its commitment to addressing public concerns and working closely with the authorities for the welfare and better civic management of the area.
