JAMMU, Sep 12: The Tagore English Club of Sardar Parkash Singh Badal College of Management and Technology organised an innovative Brand Logo Recognition and Tagline Competition to enhance students’ brand awareness, observation, communication, creativity and teamwork skills.
The activity was organised under the guidance of Dr. R.K. Uppal, Principal, and coordinated by Professor Navjeet Kaur and Professor Gurpreet Kaur. Students participated enthusiastically in teams and demonstrated impressive awareness of leading national and international brands.
The competition featured popular brands including Nike, Apple, Coca-Cola, McDonald’s, Adidas, Pepsi, Samsung, Amazon, Tata and Amul. Participants were shown different logos and taglines and asked to identify the corresponding brands within a stipulated time. The activity generated considerable enthusiasm as students demonstrated quick thinking, sharp observation, effective communication and teamwork.
The organisers said the competition went beyond conventional classroom learning by introducing students to the practical aspects of branding, advertising and marketing communication. Through real-world examples, students gained an understanding of how companies develop distinctive brand identities and use visual symbols and memorable messages to establish a strong presence among consumers.
The activity also highlighted the importance of brand recognition in today’s competitive business environment. Students learnt that a logo and tagline together communicate a brand’s identity, values and positioning. Team participation further encouraged cooperation, exchange of ideas and quick decision-making while creating a positive and engaging learning environment.
Dr. R.K. Uppal, Principal, appreciated the efforts of the Tagore English Club, coordinators and participating students. He encouraged students to participate in more innovative and skill-oriented activities, stressing that education should combine academic knowledge with creativity, communication, teamwork and practical exposure.
The successful organisation of the competition reflected the college’s focus on student-centred, experiential and activity-based learning. The event concluded with enthusiasm among the participants and provided students with valuable insights into branding, advertising and effective business communication.
