JAMMU, Jun 23: Mission Statehood Jammu & Kashmir President Sunil Dimple, along with traders and residents, celebrated what he termed a major victory following the Government’s approval for the immediate submission of the survey report related to the proposed circular ring road and metro train project connecting Amphalla, Manda, Janipur, Roop Nagar, Bantalab and Akhnoor.
The celebrations were held on Janipur High Court Road, where traders garlanded one another and expressed happiness over the government’s directions to various agencies to expedite the survey process and submit reports within a stipulated timeframe.
Addressing the gathering, Dimple said that residents and traders had been struggling for over 25 years to find a permanent solution to the persistent traffic congestion on Janipur High Court Road. He claimed that the government has now accepted the proposal for the construction of an exclusive circular ring road from Amphalla and Manda through Janipur, Lakar Mandi and Roop Nagar up to Akhnoor, besides initiating a metro train service on the same corridor.
Calling it a victory of the people, Dimple urged the administration to begin work on the proposed projects at the earliest and ensure their completion within a fixed timeframe. He asserted that the circular road project would significantly ease traffic congestion without causing major losses or expenditure burdens.
Dimple also advised the Traffic Department to focus on effective traffic management and public convenience. He alleged that rumours regarding road widening and the construction of a flyover on Janipur High Court Road had created confusion among residents and traders, adding that the proposed circular ring road offered a better solution to the area’s traffic challenges.
Among those present on the occasion were Dev Raj, Vipan Gupta, Vicky Gupta, Rakesh Sharma, Ram Kumar Das, Rakesh Verma, Daleep, Ricky Bhasin, Farooq Shah, Nazir, Vikas, Pama Shah, Sanjay Nagraj, Rajinder Gupta, Pt.
