KISHTWAR, Sep 14: A special programme was organised at Government Middle School (GMS) Malipeth on the occasion of Hindi Diwas today, with students being sensitised to the importance of the Hindi language and the historical significance of the day.

During the morning assembly, Headmaster of GMS Malipeth, Rajesh Parihar, addressed the students and briefed them about the significance of Hindi Diwas, which is observed every year on September 14. He informed the students that on this day in 1949, the Constituent Assembly adopted Hindi in the Devanagari script as the official language of the Union of India.

Addressing the gathering, Rajesh Parihar said that Hindi is not merely a means of communication but is deeply connected with India’s rich culture, traditions, literature and emotions. He highlighted the important role played by Hindi in connecting people belonging to different regions and communities across the country.

The Headmaster also apprised the students of the valuable contributions made by eminent Hindi writers, poets and litterateurs and encouraged them to read, write and speak Hindi correctly. He emphasised that while learning English and other languages is equally important, students should always maintain a sense of respect, affection and pride towards their own language.

Rajesh Parihar further encouraged the students to develop the habit of reading Hindi books and literature, learn new Hindi words and make greater use of the language in their daily lives.

Concluding the programme, the students were conveyed the message that respecting Hindi is also a way of respecting India’s language, culture and rich heritage.
