JAMMU/KATRA, Jul 22: A special prayer meeting was held at Shri Raj Mata Ji Ashram, Shani Mandir, Kashmir Road, Nallaiya, Katra, under the spiritual guidance of Swami Shri Rajeshwaranand Ji Maharaj. The gathering was attended by Shiv Sena (Bal Thackeray) Jammu & Kashmir President Manish Sahni along with a large number of devotees.
The congregation offered prayers at the feet of Maa Bhawani for the swift recovery of those affected by the recent natural calamity in Jammu & Kashmir, the safety of human lives, the well-being of affected families, and the restoration of normalcy. Special prayers were also offered for protection from future disasters and for lasting peace, prosperity, and stability in the region.
Addressing the gathering, Swami Shri Rajeshwaranand Ji Maharaj said that the repeated occurrence of natural disasters is a consequence of humanity’s unchecked interference with nature. He explained that the word “Bhagwan” (God) symbolically represents the five primordial elements—Earth, Sky, Air, Fire, and Water. When the delicate balance of these elements is disturbed, nature inevitably manifests its fierce and destructive form. He prayed for strength, protection, and a speedy return to normal life for all affected families.
Speaking on the occasion, Manish Sahni urged the Government of India and the Jammu & Kashmir Administration to carry out relief and rescue operations on a war footing. He called for the immediate provision of food, drinking water, medical assistance, and temporary shelter in the affected areas, besides announcing a special rehabilitation and relief package for the victims. He emphasized that service to humanity is the highest form of duty, especially in times of crisis.
Among those present were Ram Vohra, Manager of Shri Rajmata Jhandewala Temple Group; Acharya Premnidhi; Rahul Sharma; Swaminath Pandey; Bhagchand Maheshwari; Bansi Lal, Vice President of the Mazdoor Dastkar Union; and Shiv Sena leaders Aditya Mahajan and Sanjay Bhatt, along with other devotees.
