JAMMU, Nov 7: The Jammu and Kashmir unit of Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) has strongly reacted to the brewing rebellion in Pakistan-occupied Jammu & Kashmir (PoK)—including Rawalakot, Muzaffarabad, and other areas—and the atrocities unleashed by Pakistani security forces. The party strongly condemned the brutal crackdown by the Pakistan Army on unarmed citizens who were peacefully protesting for basic rights, political representation, affordable electricity, food grains, and economic justice.
In a fierce statement, State Party President Manish Sahni said that attempts to crush a peaceful public movement through bullets, lathi-charge, tear gas, and drone strikes completely expose Pakistan’s oppressive and dictatorial mindset.
Sharing the figures, Sahni stated that in the brutal actions by Pakistani Rangers, Frontier Corps, and police on November 5 and 6 in Rawalakot, at least seven civilians were killed and 23 others seriously injured. According to media reports, the death toll in the ongoing unrest since June has now exceeded 150 citizens.
He seriously alleged that to cover up this brutality, the Pakistan government has imposed complete restrictions on communication services, an internet blackout, and undeclared curbs on media access.
Manish Sahni explicitly emphasized that PoK is in no way a part of Pakistan, but directly an integral part of Jammu and Kashmir and India. Freeing the citizens of PoK—who have been separated from their country and loved ones since 1947—from the bloody clutches and oppression of the Pakistan Army is now India’s supreme national resolve.
Sahni strongly urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the central government to adopt a stern stance on this grave humanitarian crisis on international platforms, and demanded that the Indian government take concrete, clear, and decisive steps to reclaim PoK immediately.
With a note of warning, he said that the time for mere verbal rhetoric or superficial statements is over; the time has come to reclaim our motherland from illegal Pakistani occupation.
