Shiv Sena Dogra front protests over ‘Vote Chori’ allegations, calls for respect for Democratic institutions

JAMMU, Oct 14: Shiv Sena Dogra Front, led by its president Ashok Gupta, staged a protest against the opposition INDIA bloc over its allegations of “vote chori,” asserting that claims of electoral malpractice must be backed by credible evidence and addressed through established constitutional mechanisms.

Addressing party workers during the protest, Gupta criticised the opposition’s approach towards constitutional institutions and said political parties must exercise responsibility while raising questions about the electoral process.

He alleged that certain campaigns by the INDIA bloc and groups associated with it, including the CJP, appeared to serve political interests. He called for any claims concerning foreign interference to be examined through appropriate channels, emphasising that India’s democratic process must remain protected from external influence.

Gupta expressed concern over what he described as repeated attempts to question the credibility of constitutional authorities, including the Chief Election Commissioner and the Supreme Court. He also referred to questions raised about the Indian Army and demands for evidence concerning security operations, arguing that public debate should not undermine confidence in institutions entrusted with important national responsibilities.

Questioning the opposition’s allegations of electoral manipulation, Gupta referred to the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, in which the BJP won 240 seats despite campaigning under the slogan “Abki Baar 400 Paar.”

He argued that the election results demonstrated the importance of accepting electoral outcomes through constitutional procedures and maintaining consistency while evaluating democratic processes.

Gupta further accused opposition parties of applying different standards to election results, claiming that victories in states such as Karnataka, Telangana, Himachal Pradesh and Jharkhand were generally celebrated, while defeats often prompted questions about the Election Commission.

He maintained that allegations of electoral irregularities should be supported by verifiable evidence and pursued through legal and constitutional channels rather than political confrontation.

The Shiv Sena Dogra Front called upon political parties to uphold democratic values, respect constitutional authorities and ensure that public discourse remained focused on accountability, governance and the welfare of citizens.

Concluding his address, Gupta said democratic institutions must be assessed on the basis of evidence and established procedures. He reiterated his organisation’s commitment to raising issues concerning national interests and the dignity of constitutional institutions.

Party workers who participated in the protest included Rahul, Abhishek, Ashish, Ashu, Sushil, Fauji, Narinder, Kishore, Mohan, Bittu, Akshaye, Sunil, Sandhya, Bhajo, Sheela and Nirmal, among others.
