Does NC resent Hindu ministers from Jammu? asks Sahni
JAMMU, Nov 6: Shiv Sena (UBT), Jammu and Kashmir unit, has openly extended its support to Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary.
Addressing a press conference, party spokesperson Manish Sahni said that even the only Deputy Chief Minister representing Jammu appears to be unwelcome to certain National Conference legislators.
Sahni said reports have emerged that during a meeting with Dr Farooq Abdullah, some legislators raised the demand for Choudhary’s removal and restrictions on his functioning.
He pointed out that Satish Sharma, MLA from Chhamb, was recently dropped from the Council of Ministers, and now the Deputy Chief Minister is being targeted. Does the National Conference resent having Hindu ministers and a Deputy Chief Minister from Jammu, he questioned.
Sahni said any attempt to weaken Jammu’s political representation and push the region to the margins of power would not be tolerated. Power cannot be the monopoly of one region. Both Jammu and Kashmir deserve equal political respect and representation. He urged the NC leadership to rise above internal conflicts and focus on government stability and public welfare. In this occasion Sanjay Bhatt (Gen Secretary & Kashmir incharge )was also present.
