JAMMU, Jun 18 (Agencies): The Shaheedi Diwas of Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji, the fifth Sikh Guru and the embodiment of sacrifice, humility, and devotion, was commemorated with great reverence and spiritual fervour under the patronage of Sant Tejwant Singh Ji (Dera Mukhi, Sant Pura Danna) at Gurudwara Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji, Machine, Domana, in Jammu today.
A large number of devotees gathered to pay homage to Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji and remember His supreme sacrifice for the cause of truth, righteousness, humanity and compilation of Guru Granth Sahib. The religious congregation witnessed soulful recitations of Gurbani, Shabad Kirtan, and Path, creating a deeply spiritual atmosphere.
The devotional Kirtan was rendered by renowned Ragis and Sikh scholars including Bhai Gurpreet Singh Attari (Hazuri Ragi, Sri Darbar Sahib), Bhai Amrik Singh Taadi Jatha (Pathankot Wale), Bhai Taranpreet Singh (Hazuri Ragi, Sant Pura Danna), and the students of Sant Bhai Khushal Singh (Gurmat Research and Education Centre). During the gathering, the life, teachings, and supreme martyrdom of Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji were discussed in detail. Speakers highlighted Guru Sahib’s message of universal brotherhood, selfless service, tolerance, and unwavering faith in the Almighty. The Sangat was deeply moved as they emotionally remembered the unparalleled sacrifice made by Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji for the welfare of humanity and the protection of religious freedom.
The congregation proved to be highly inspiring and spiritually uplifting, encouraging devotees to follow the path shown by Guru Sahib.
