KISHTWAR, Jul 29 (Agencies): The authorities on Wednesday ordered the closure of all government and private schools across most parts of Kishtwar district due to adverse weather conditions triggered by continuous heavy rainfall.
According to an order issued by the Chief Education Officer (CEO), Kishtwar, the decision was taken following directions from the Deputy Commissioner in view of the prevailing weather conditions, slippery roads and the possibility of shooting stones, which pose a serious threat to the safety of students and school staff.
However, schools located within Kishtwar city, from Malipeth to Cherhar, have been exempted from the closure order and will remain open as usual.
The order further stated that official work in educational institutions, wherever applicable, should not be affected.
The administration has advised people to remain cautious and avoid unnecessary travel in vulnerable areas until weather conditions improve.
