JAMMU, Aug 24: Sanjay Dhar, political leader and parliamentary candidate from Anantnag, Kashmir, has expressed serious concern over a threatening communication dated August 7 and another letter reportedly received today, allegedly issued in the name of the “United Liberation Council (ULC)” and targeting employees appointed under the PM Package.
Dhar said the communications reportedly contain references to the addresses of some PM Package employees in Jammu, raising concerns over their safety and that of their families.
He urged the Government of India and the J&K Administration to immediately verify the authenticity of the communications, identify their source and conduct a thorough investigation. He also called for strict legal action if the threats are found to be genuine.
Dhar further demanded adequate security and protection for PM Package employees, particularly those specifically named or threatened, so that they can discharge their duties without fear or intimidation.
“Every credible threat must be taken seriously and investigated promptly. The safety, security and dignity of PM Package employees and their families must remain paramount. No one should be allowed to create an atmosphere of fear and intimidation,” Dhar said.
He urged the concerned authorities to take preventive measures and ensure that any individual or group found responsible for issuing threats is dealt with strictly under law.
