RAMGARH, Sep 2: Dozens of people joined the Congress party during a political programme organised at Reiya village in Ramgarh Assembly constituency in the presence of former minister and senior Congress leader Yashpal Kundal.
The programme was attended by District Congress President Sanjeev Sharma, farmer leader Mandeep Choudhary, District Vice President Mahesh Sharma, Block President Suresh Sharma, Subhash Ji, Rakesh Singh, Subhash Charak, Ved Sharma and several other party workers and supporters.
Addressing the gathering, Yashpal Kundal launched a sharp attack on the BJP government over rising inflation and the increasing cost of household essentials. He said the continuous rise in prices had placed a heavy financial burden on ordinary families and disrupted household budgets.
Kundal said the rising cost of basic commodities had made it increasingly difficult for common people to meet their daily expenses. Taking a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he remarked, “The person who became Prime Minister after selling tea has made it difficult for ordinary people to even afford a cup of tea.”
The former minister alleged that the BJP government had failed to provide adequate relief to people from inflation and had failed on several fronts concerning the interests of the common man. He claimed that growing support for Congress in Samba district reflected increasing dissatisfaction among people with the present government.
Kundal said people were increasingly turning towards Congress over issues including inflation, rising household expenses and unemployment. Welcoming the new entrants into the party, he said their joining would strengthen the Congress organisation at the grassroots level.
The programme was described by Congress leaders as an important organisational activity in the Ramgarh Assembly constituency, with the party asserting that the increasing participation of local residents would further strengthen its presence across Samba district.
