JAMMU . SRI GANGANAGAR, Sep 15: Renowned academician, author and researcher Prof. R.K. Uppal has added another significant contribution to the field of higher education with the release of his latest book, India’s Higher Education at a Crossroads. The book was formally released by Prof. M.M. Saxena, Vice-Chancellor, Tantia University, Sri Ganganagar, at a special academic gathering.
The publication comes at a time when India’s higher education sector is undergoing significant transformation while facing several complex challenges. The book presents a critical and analytical assessment of the contemporary higher education system and examines the reforms required to make Indian universities more innovative, inclusive, research-oriented and globally competitive.

With 39 years of experience in higher education and research, Prof. R.K. Uppal has established a distinguished record of academic writing and research. He has authored 85 books, published hundreds of research papers and completed seven major research projects supported by national-level institutions.
His academic contributions cover diverse areas, including economics, banking, finance, management, research and higher education.
