JAMMU, Aug 11: BJP Vice President and former Minister J & K Priya Sethi on Tuesday heard the grievances of people at her office, reaffirming her commitment to ensuring that public concerns are addressed promptly and effectively.
During the interaction, a large number of people from different areas brought forward issues related to civic amenities, development works, administrative matters and other public concerns.
Priya Sethi gave a patient hearing to the visitors and assured them that their genuine issues would be taken up with the concerned authorities.
In several cases, she called the concerned officers on the spot and directed them to examine the matters and take necessary action on priority. She stressed that public grievances should not remain pending unnecessarily and that officials must ensure timely and effective resolution of issues brought before them.
Speaking on the occasion, Priya Sethi said that serving the people and remaining accessible to them is at the core of public life. She emphasized that governance must be responsive, transparent and people-oriented, with the concerns of ordinary citizens receiving due attention.
She further said that the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi places the citizen at the centre of governance, with an emphasis on “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas.” She said the focus is on strengthening a system in which government institutions remain accessible to the people and public grievances are addressed through a time-bound and accountable mechanism.
Priya Sethi maintained that regular interaction with the public provides an important platform to understand ground-level challenges and ensure that development and administrative initiatives translate into tangible benefits for citizens.
She also urged the concerned officials to maintain close coordination, respond sensitively to public concerns and ensure that legitimate grievances are resolved without unnecessary delay.
The interaction reflected the importance of people-centric governance, where accessibility, accountability and prompt grievance redressal remain key pillars of public service.
