JAMMU, Oct 15: PG Department and ASCOMS in the women’s section, along with PG Department and GDC Udhampur in the men’s section, secured their places in the finals of the Inter-Collegiate Table Tennis (Men & Women) Tournament 2026–2027 being organised by the Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu.
On the third day of the tournament, held at the University Table Tennis Hall, the participating teams displayed impressive skills, determination and sportsmanship in the semi-final encounters to book their places in the title clashes.
In the women’s section, ASCOMS defeated GDC Ramnagar by 3–1 in the first semi-final, while the PG Department registered a convincing 3–0 victory over GDC Poonch in the second semi-final.
In the men’s section, the PG Department defeated MIET by 3–1 in the first semi-final to advance to the final. In the other semi-final, GDC Udhampur outplayed GCET by 3–0 to secure its place in the title clash.
The tournament is being conducted under the overall supervision of Dr. Daud Iqbal Baba, Director, Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu. His guidance and leadership continue to support the promotion of sports culture and encourage greater participation among students of affiliated colleges.
The matches were officiated by Ravish Vaid, Sakshi Dabgotra and Arjun Sharma, who ensured the smooth and fair conduct of the tournament.
With the semi-final stage completed, attention now turns to the final matches, where the qualifying teams will compete for the championship titles in their respective sections.
