JAMMU, Aug 1: Youth from different parts of Jammu today extended their support to the ongoing peaceful protest by Outstanding Sportspersons at the statue site. The youth expressed solidarity with the protesting athletes and assured them that they would continue to stand by their side until their genuine demands are fulfilled.
On this occasion, Surinder Singh Gilli, Founder of YRS and BJP Leader, and Partap Singh, Political Leader, joined the protest and raised slogans against the Government’s policy. They urged the Government to listen to the concerns of the sportspersons and address their grievances at the earliest.
Speaking on the occasion, they said that the protesting athletes are not making any unreasonable demands; they are simply seeking transparency and fairness in the selection process. They stated that if the sportspersons genuinely believe they have been denied justice, it is the responsibility of the Government to hear them and ensure a fair and impartial resolution.
They further emphasized that governments are elected to serve the people and address their concerns. Ignoring the legitimate grievances of deserving athletes would undermine their faith in the system. They appealed to the Government to engage with the protesting sportspersons, conduct a transparent review of the selection process, and deliver justice to all deserving candidates.
They expressed serious concern over the alleged irregularities in the selection list and urged the Government to order an impartial and transparent inquiry. They stated that deserving sportspersons should receive equal opportunities and justice in accordance with established rules and merit.
They appealed to the concerned authorities to review the selection process, address all genuine grievances, and take appropriate action wherever necessary.
Nikhil Sharma, S Sukhvinder Singh, Aaryeveer Singh, Dixit Sharma, Ashwani Sharma, Mohit Bhau, Sunil Sham, Vikrant Sharma, Bhanu Partap Goria were also present.
