JAMMU, Jul 6. The Jammu and Kashmir unit of Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) launched a scathing attack on the Central Government over alleged financial irregularities and scams at the country’s major Hindu religious sites. The party demanded an immediate, impartial, and time-bound investigation into the alleged theft in the offerings at the Ayodhya Shri Ram Temple, and the corruption scandals related to the Kedarnath Temple and the Ujjain Mahakal Corridor.
Addressing a press conference here, Shiv Sena (UBT) J&K Chief Manish Sahni stated that the party will reach out to the public across the Union Territory with party chief Uddhav Thackeray’s message: “Hindus will no longer forgive these plunderers.”
Sahni said, “It is deeply concerning that at the Shri Ram Temple movement—for which Shiv Sainiks sacrificed everything—reports of manipulation in the offerings made by devotees are coming to light. Furthermore, the controversy surrounding the gold plating at Kedarnath and the financial irregularities in the Ujjain Mahakal Corridor have deeply hurt the sentiments of devotees.” He alleged that the BJP, blinded by the arrogance of power, has reduced Hindutva to a mere tool for political gains.
Announcing a mega-agitation in Jammu and Kashmir to protest against these alleged scams and to raise public awareness, Sahni declared that Shiv Sena would mobilize public outrage against these issues in every district, tehsil, and village across the region. The party urged the Central Government to conduct a transparent probe into all these sensitive matters concerning centers of faith and to take strict legal action against the culprits.
On this occasion, influenced by the public-centric policies and unwavering commitment of Shiv Sena (UBT) towards Hindutva, over a dozen local residents formally joined the party. J&K Chief Manish Sahni welcomed all the new members into the organization by draping the party’s traditional sitka (muffler) around them, calling upon them to strongly raise the voice of the common people.
