KISHTWAR, Jun 16: Senior leader of Jammu and Kashmir National Conference and spokesperson for Chenab Valley Region Ajeet Bhagat has criticized the officials of National Hydroelectric Power Corporation for violating the MoU agreement of Dul – Hasti Project.
Bhagat said that an agreement has been signed between National Hydroelectric Power Corporation NHPC and the state government in which it was clearly stated that National Hydroelectric Power Corporation NHPC will provide power supply, roads, connectivity, drainage system, hospital, drinking water, bus facility to school going children, employment to deserving unemployed youth and employment with affected landowners, etc. and will provide free electricity within five kilometers of the project,
But unfortunately no such facility is provided as this project is generating 390 MW of electricity and the central government is earning crores of rupees annually,
The National Conference leader alleged that despite earning crores of rupees from the said project, National Hydro Electric Power Corporation has failed to provide free education even to the land affected people and children of deserving people and has also failed to provide medical assistance to the people of Kishtwar district.
Ajeet Bhagat said that National Hydro Electric Power Corporation NHPC has failed to award the contract for the drainage system in Kishtwar town while they are committed to constructing drainage in the area, as National Hydro Electric Power Corporation NHPC is earning crores of rupees from Dul Hasti Power Station but they have not spent a single penny.
