JAMMU / CHANDIGARH, Jun 15: “Men are often less likely to seek medical advice and frequently ignore symptoms until health conditions become severe. Many common urological disorders, including prostate enlargement, kidney stones, urinary tract disorders, and prostate cancer, can be effectively managed when detected early.”
Speaking on the occasion of Men’s Health Awareness Week on Monday, Dr. M.S. Randhawa, associate director–urology at Max Hospital, Mohali, said that one of the biggest challenges in men’s healthcare is delayed diagnosis.
Many men tend to neglect symptoms such as urinary difficulties, frequent urination, blood in the urine, or persistent discomfort, he explained.
Early evaluation and regular health check-ups can help identify potential health concerns before they become serious, he informed.
Regular prostate health evaluations and timely medical consultations can play a vital role in ensuring better long-term health outcomes for men, advised Dr. Randhawa.
Maintaining a healthy lifestyle through regular exercise, balanced nutrition, adequate hydration, and avoiding tobacco use can help reduce the risk of several health conditions, he said.”
The men above the age of 40 should undergo routine health screenings and consult healthcare professionals whenever they notice unusual symptoms, he opined.
