JAMMU, Aug 3: Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (NC) Joint Secretary, Central Zone, M.K. Rana highlighted the various welfare schemes launched by the Omar Abdullah-led Government for the empowerment of women, financial assistance to senior citizens, and employment opportunities for the youth.
Addressing a public meeting at Bajad Mohalla, Panchayat Jandial, Block Mathwar, Mr. Rana said that the government’s priority is to ensure inclusive development and improve the living standards of all sections of society through people-centric welfare programmes.
During the meeting, Mr. Rana criticized the local BJP MLA for what he described as unfulfilled promises regarding development, stating that the promised works are not visible on the ground.
The local residents raised the issue of the poor condition of the Daber–Mehra Road in Ramnagar, demanding the construction and upgradation of the approximately 1,600-metre stretch, which they said has caused inconvenience to commuters for a long time.
Responding to the demand, Mr. Rana assured the people that he would take up the matter with the concerned Minister and make every effort to ensure that the road project is considered and addressed at the earliest.
