Demands transfers through ATD and grant of ACP benefits
JAMMU, Jun 5: All J&K +2 Lecturers’ Forum, Jammu Division President, Pardeep Koul, in a statement issued to the press, has urged the Education Minister, Sakina Masood Itoo, and Commissioner/Secretary, School Education Department, Ram Niwas Sharma, to address the long-pending issues concerning +2 officers on a priority basis.
Koul stated that despite the grant of a one-time exemption regarding permissions, Incharge Lecturers continue to await their regularisation. He reminded the authorities that Incharge Lecturers were to be regularised within six months of their elevation. However, despite the lapse of considerable time, they are still being deprived of their legitimate rights without any justified reason.
Meanwhile, R.S. Salathia, Chairman of the Forum, expressed serious concern over the unnecessary delay in the regularisation process. He urged the Education Minister to personally intervene and ensure that the issue is resolved within a fortnight. He also highlighted the long-pending demand for transfers of Lecturers under the Annual Transfer Drive (ATD).
In a joint statement, Bal Krishan Tickoo (Vice President), Pardeep Singh (Chief Advisor), Ghar Singh (General Secretary), Renu Lengeh (Vice President), Ghulam Nabi Malik (Legal Advisor), and R.K. Padroo (Chief Organiser) appealed to the Commissioner/Secretary, School Education Department, to initiate transfers of Lecturers through the ATD by inviting applications through a dedicated online portal. They emphasized that many Lecturers have been serving in far-flung and difficult areas for prolonged periods and deserve repatriation in the interest of fairness and justice.
The Forum leaders also strongly advocated for an early and final decision regarding the grant of Assured Career Progression (ACP) benefits to +2 officers, a long-pending demand that has significant implications for their career advancement and service welfare.
