JAMMU, Aug 11: Senior BJP leader and former Sarpanch Advocate Dev Raj Sharma paid heartfelt tributes to legendary freedom fighter Amar Shaheed Khudiram Bose on his death anniversary, describing his extraordinary courage, patriotism and supreme sacrifice as an enduring source of inspiration for generations.
Dev Raj Sharma said Khudiram Bose was among those great revolutionaries who dedicated their lives to the cause of India’s freedom at a remarkably young age. He said that Khudiram Bose, who was executed at the age of just 18, demonstrated extraordinary courage and determination, proving that patriotism and commitment to the nation are not determined by age.
He recalled that Khudiram Bose was executed on August 11, 1908, following his conviction in the Muzaffarpur case. Sharma said that the fearless manner in which the young revolutionary faced the ultimate sacrifice earned him an immortal place in the history of India’s freedom struggle. His life, he added, continues to inspire the youth to place national interest above personal considerations, stand firmly against injustice and remain committed to their duties.
The senior BJP leader said India’s independence was achieved through the sacrifices, struggles and hardships endured by countless freedom fighters. Thousands of known and unsung heroes fought against colonial rule, while many laid down their lives for the freedom of the country. He described Khudiram Bose’s sacrifice as an important and inspiring chapter in this glorious history.
Sharma stressed that the younger generation must remain connected with the history of India’s freedom movement and understand the immense sacrifices behind the freedom citizens enjoy today. He urged the youth to draw inspiration from the lives of freedom fighters and play a constructive role in nation-building.
He said that paying tribute to freedom fighters should not be confined to observing their birth or death anniversaries. The real tribute, he maintained, lies in incorporating their values into everyday life by demonstrating honesty, discipline, commitment to duty, social harmony and a spirit of service towards society.
Sharma said Khudiram Bose’s sacrifice conveys a powerful message that courage and determination in the service of the nation can leave an impact far beyond an individual’s lifetime. He said that as India continues to move forward as a strong and confident nation, every citizen has a responsibility to contribute towards the country’s unity, integrity and progress.
He further said that the India envisioned by the freedom fighters should not only be economically strong but also socially harmonious, just, educated and guided by responsible citizens. He called upon the youth to rise above divisions of caste, region and other differences and work towards strengthening national unity, brotherhood and social harmony.
Dev Raj Sharma said that Khudiram Bose’s life may have been short, but his courage and sacrifice remain eternal. The nation, he said, will always remember the young revolutionary with pride, respect and gratitude. Paying his final homage to Amar Shaheed Khudiram Bose, Sharma said his patriotism, sacrifice and fearlessness would continue to guide generations towards greater dedication to the nation. He also urged citizens to remember the sacrifices of all freedom fighters and remain committed to safeguarding India’s unity, integrity, democratic values and national interests.
