JAMMU, Aug 26: Jammu State Movement (JSM) Coordinator Atulya Bakshi extended warm greetings to the Muslim Samaj on the auspicious occasion of Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi, commemorating the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him), and called upon people to strengthen peace, brotherhood and social harmony.

Bakshi visited a local Masjid, where he met Advocate Mehmood Rizvi, a prominent lawyer and respected community leader, and conveyed his heartfelt greetings and best wishes to him and members of the Muslim community.

Highlighting the spirit of mutual respect and communal harmony, Bakshi said religious occasions provide an opportunity for people from different communities to come together, exchange goodwill and strengthen the bonds of humanity.

He said the teachings and life of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) emphasise universal values of peace, compassion, justice, equality, humanity and brotherhood, which remain highly relevant in today’s society.

“The message associated with the life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) inspires humanity to uphold compassion, justice, peace and brotherhood. These values are not confined to any particular community; they are universal principles that can guide every society towards greater harmony and understanding,” he said.

Bakshi stressed that Jammu’s strength lies in its composite culture, diversity and traditions of coexistence. He said people belonging to different faiths and communities have historically shared social and cultural spaces and contributed collectively to the development of the region.

“The diversity of Jammu is its strength. Our different faiths, cultures and traditions should bring us closer and help us understand one another better. Every community is an important part of the social fabric of Jammu, and collective progress is possible only when all sections of society move forward together,” he stated.

The JSM Coordinator also appreciated the contribution of the Muslim community to Jammu’s social, cultural and economic development. He said progress is possible only through participation, cooperation and mutual trust among all sections of society.

Reiterating JSM’s commitment to an inclusive approach, Bakshi said the organisation believes in bringing people together irrespective of religion, caste, community or social background and remains committed to unity, dignity, justice and the collective welfare of the people.

He particularly urged the younger generation to uphold tolerance, mutual respect and peaceful coexistence. “Jammu’s future belongs to its young generation. It is therefore important that our youth grow up with values of mutual respect, tolerance and brotherhood,” he said.

During his interaction with Advocate Rizvi and other members of the Muslim community, Bakshi extended wishes for peace, prosperity, happiness and goodwill, expressing hope that the sacred occasion would further strengthen fraternity among all communities.

“On this sacred occasion of Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi, I extend my respectful greetings and heartfelt best wishes to Advocate Mehmood Rizvi and our entire Muslim Samaj. May the timeless message of peace, compassion, brotherhood, justice and humanity continue to inspire all of us to work together for a harmonious, united and prosperous Jammu,” Bakshi said.

The interaction was marked by cordiality and mutual respect. Bakshi concluded by urging people to use religious occasions as opportunities to strengthen human bonds and work collectively for the common good.

“Jammu belongs to all its people, and its future will be stronger when every community feels respected, valued and included in the journey of progress,” he stated.
