JAMMU, Sep 7: The J&K Apni Party (JKAP) continued to witness growing support at the grassroots level as several prominent women from Ward 73 joined the Party at its Jammu headquarters at Gandhi Nagar. The joining was described as a reflection of the increasing public faith in the honest, straightforward and development-oriented politics of Party President Sayeed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari, whose political approach, party leaders said, is increasingly resonating with people across the Union Territory.
The new entrants joined the Party under the inspiring leadership of JKAP Provincial President Manjit Singh and the positive guidance of JKAP Women Wing President Pavneet Kaur. The development assumes significance as the Apni Party has been steadily expanding its organisational network and public outreach across different regions of J&K, with increasing numbers of people associating themselves with its political vision.
Addressing the gathering, Manjit Singh welcomed the new members and said that their decision to join JKAP was a clear indication that people were looking for a credible political alternative committed to addressing their day-to-day concerns rather than engaging in politics based merely on slogans and rhetoric. He said the Apni Party’s strength lies in its commitment to truthful politics, transparency, development and people’s interests.
He said that under the leadership of Sayeed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari, the Apni Party has consistently maintained that politics should be based on facts, public welfare and accountability. According to him, the Party President has never hesitated to speak openly on issues affecting the people of J&K and has advocated a practical political approach aimed at safeguarding the interests of all sections of society.
Manjit Singh said the growing participation of people in the Apni Party’s programmes and organisational activities across J&K was particularly significant against the backdrop of the performance of the National Conference-led Government during its tenure so far. He alleged that the expectations generated among the people before the formation of the government had not translated into satisfactory results on the ground, leaving many sections disappointed over issues relating to employment, development, essential services, power, roads and other basic concerns.
He maintained that people were now increasingly judging political parties on the basis of their actual performance and credibility, rather than promises made during elections. “The people of J&K want politics that speaks the truth, accepts responsibility and delivers on the ground. This is precisely the approach that Sayeed Altaf Bukhari has consistently advocated,” he said.
Pavneet Kaur, while welcoming the women into the Party fold, said that the growing involvement of women in JKAP was an encouraging sign. She said women are not merely voters but important stakeholders in the political, social and economic development of J&K. She assured the new members that the Women Wing would provide them with a meaningful platform to raise issues concerning women, families and communities.
She said that the Apni Party believes in empowering women through greater political participation and ensuring that their concerns receive due representation in policy and governance. She urged the new members to strengthen the Party’s grassroots presence by maintaining direct contact with people and highlighting their genuine concerns.
Party leaders said that the continuous joining of new members in different parts of J&K reflects the changing political mood and growing acceptance of the Apni Party’s alternative political narrative. They said the Party’s emphasis on development, transparency, accountability and inclusive politics has enabled it to connect with people who are seeking a departure from traditional political practices.
