JAMMU, Jun 10: Senior BJP leader and former Sarpanch Adv. Devraj has expressed heartfelt gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for ushering in an unprecedented era of development, peace, and prosperity in Jammu and Kashmir over the past twelve years. He said that the Union Territory has witnessed historic transformation in every sphere, ranging from infrastructure and education to connectivity, security, and national integration.
Addressing party workers and local residents, Adv. Devraj stated that the people of Jammu and Kashmir are today witnessing the fruits of visionary leadership and decisive governance. He remarked that projects which remained confined to files for decades have now become reality under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Highlighting the remarkable achievements of the Central Government, Adv. Devraj pointed out the establishment of premier educational institutions such as Indian Institute of Technology Jammu, Indian Institute of Management Jammu, and Central University of Jammu, which have opened new avenues of higher education and employment opportunities for the youth of the region. He said that these institutions have placed Jammu and Kashmir firmly on the national educational map and are attracting talent from across the country.
The BJP leader further lauded the government’s commitment to strengthening connectivity, describing the rail link connecting Kashmir with the rest of the country as a historic milestone. He said the dream of seamless railway connectivity, cherished by generations, has finally become a reality, bringing immense benefits for tourism, trade, transportation, and economic growth.
Adv. Devraj also hailed the progress on the strategically important Zojila Tunnel, stating that the tunnel will revolutionize all-weather connectivity between Kashmir and Ladakh, reduce travel hardships, boost economic activity, and strengthen national security in the border regions.
Criticizing opposition political parties, he said it was unfortunate that many political leaders continue to ignore the visible and tangible development taking place across Jammu and Kashmir. According to him, despite witnessing new roads, tunnels, educational institutions, healthcare facilities, and enhanced connectivity, certain opposition parties remain unwilling to acknowledge the positive changes brought about during the last decade.
Adv. Devraj emphasized that while infrastructure development is significant, the most remarkable achievement has been the restoration of peace and law and order in the Union Territory. He noted that the days of frequent strikes, shutdowns, stone-pelting incidents, and disruptive activities have largely become a thing of the past. The atmosphere of fear and uncertainty that once affected daily life has been replaced by a sense of normalcy and confidence among the people.
He further stated that today the national flag proudly flies from every corner of Jammu and Kashmir, symbolizing the deepening spirit of patriotism and national unity. Referring to the widespread celebration of the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, he said that the enthusiastic participation of citizens, especially the youth, reflects the growing emotional bond of the people with the nation.
The former Sarpanch observed that tourism has reached unprecedented levels, investments are increasing, developmental projects are progressing rapidly, and young people are being provided opportunities to realize their aspirations. He added that the improved security situation has enabled ordinary citizens to focus on education, business, agriculture, and employment rather than living under the shadow of uncertainty.
Concluding his remarks, Adv. Devraj said that the people of Jammu and Kashmir will always remain grateful to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for bringing peace, dignity, development, and hope to the region. He expressed confidence that under the Prime Minister’s continued leadership, Jammu and Kashmir would emerge as one of the most developed and prosperous regions of the country, setting new benchmarks of growth, harmony, and national integration.
