JAMMU, Jun 1: Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory earned recognition at the national level as two students from the region were selected to participate in PRERNA Cycle-2, Batch-7, a prestigious experiential learning programme held at Vadnagar, Gujarat.

Out of nearly 60 students who participated in the initial rounds of the selection process from the region, only two students—Anayet Satsangi and Kartik Sharma—successfully secured a place in the national-level programme after clearing a rigorous multi-stage selection process.

The students were accompanied and guided by Rashmi Singh, who served as the guardian teacher for the delegation.

According to officials, the selection process began at the school level, where candidates were shortlisted on the basis of academic excellence, extracurricular achievements, leadership qualities and overall personality development. The shortlisted students then advanced to the district-level evaluation conducted at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Garota, where they underwent their first formal assessment.

The evaluation process was designed to identify students with strong leadership potential, social awareness, communication skills and a commitment to personal growth.

Through several rounds of scrutiny and assessment, Anayet Satsangi and Kartik Sharma emerged among the top performers and earned the opportunity to represent Jammu and Kashmir at the prestigious national programme.

The PRERNA programme, organized in Vadnagar, Gujarat, aims to nurture young leaders by providing experiential learning opportunities, value-based education and exposure to diverse cultural and developmental experiences. The initiative seeks to instill qualities of leadership, responsibility, innovation and nation-building among students from across the country.

The achievement has been widely appreciated by educators and members of the academic community, who described it as a proud moment for Jammu and Kashmir.
