KATHUA, Sep 7: The Inter-District Division Level Kho-Kho Tournament for All Age Group Girls commenced at Trikuta Resort, Dayalachak, Kathua, with enthusiastic participation and a vibrant display of sporting spirit.

Deputy Commissioner Kathua, Rajesh Sharma, graced the inaugural ceremony as the Chief Guest. Addressing the participating players, the Deputy Commissioner encouraged them to give their best and uphold the values of sportsmanship, discipline and dedication throughout the tournament. He also extended his best wishes to all participating teams for a successful competition.

The tournament began with the Under-17 age group, with teams from all 10 districts of Jammu Division participating in the mega sporting event. The competition provides a platform for young sportspersons to showcase their talent, determination and competitive spirit at the divisional level.

The tournament is being organised under the banner of the Directorate of Youth Services and Sports, J&K UT, under the guidance of Director General Youth Services and Sports Anuradha Gupta and the overall supervision of District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Kathua, Sunil Kumar.

Before the matches commenced, all participating players and officials took the Tournament Pledge, reaffirming their commitment to fair play, discipline and the true spirit of sportsmanship.

The event marks another step towards encouraging greater participation of girls in sports and providing young athletes with opportunities to compete, develop their skills and represent their respective districts at higher levels.
