RAJOURI, Sep 16: The Indian Army organised an awareness lecture on “Career Opportunities for Women” at Hasplot in Rajouri district on September 15 with the objective of empowering women and sensitising them about diverse career opportunities available across various sectors.
During the interaction, women and girls were briefed about career avenues in the Indian Defence Forces, government services, education, skill development programmes and other professional fields. The participants were also informed about eligibility criteria, opportunities for higher education, competitive examinations, self-employment and entrepreneurship.
The lecture was followed by an interactive session during which participants actively engaged with the speakers and sought clarification on various career-related issues. The interaction provided them with information on available avenues for personal growth, financial independence and professional development.
The programme received an encouraging response from local women and youth, with 15 women participating in the event. The initiative provided an opportunity for participants to familiarise themselves with different career pathways and consider options suited to their interests and aspirations.
The Indian Army reiterated its focus on women empowerment, capacity building and community outreach through such awareness initiatives, encouraging women to pursue education, professional opportunities and skill development and contribute to the development of their families and communities.
