JAMMU. Jul 30: Heritage School was conferred with the prestigious Recognition of International Dimension in Schools (RIDS) Award by the British Council India at a glittering award ceremony held at Le Méridien, Connaught Place, New Delhi, on 29 July 2026.
Formerly known as the International School Award (ISA), the RIDS Award recognises schools that successfully integrate an international dimension into teaching and learning. This marks the fourth consecutive recognition for Heritage School, reaffirming its commitment to quality education with a global perspective.
Principal Akash Pradhan and RIDS Coordinator Shalini Samnotra received the award from Tania Sabharwal, Director, Business Development (India, Sri Lanka & Nepal), British Council, in the presence of senior officials from the British Council India.
The recognition is the culmination of a year-long journey of meticulous planning, collaboration and teamwork. Heritage School developed a comprehensive action plan comprising seven major activities and twenty-one cross-curricular activities, integrated across subjects and classes from Kindergarten to Class XII. As an essential component of the programme, the school collaborated with international partner schools in Australia and the United Arab Emirates, providing students with meaningful global learning experiences.
Evidence of the activities, including student work, reflections, assessments and collaborative outcomes, was compiled into a 250-page dossier and evaluated by the British Council against stringent international standards. Heritage School achieved a perfect score of 100%, earning appreciation from the assessors for the quality, innovation and impact of its work.
Following the successful evaluation and acceptance of the dossier, Heritage School has been enrolled in the British Council’s RIDS Programme for the 2026–2029 cycle.
The RIDS Programme promotes global exposure and intercultural understanding while equipping students with the knowledge, skills and values needed to become responsible global citizens. The achievement reflects Heritage School’s continued commitment to fostering international-mindedness and preparing students for an increasingly interconnected world.
