BHADERWAH, May 15: In a significant initiative aimed at enhancing emergency response preparedness and promoting lifesaving skills among the prison population, the Health Department Doda in collaboration with District Jail Bhaderwah organized a Basic Life Support (BLS) and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training session for jail inmates and staff at District Jail Bhaderwah, District Doda, on Friday.
The training programme was conducted under the guidance of the Chief Medical Officer Doda Dr Tanveer Ahmed Rather and under the close supervision of Superintendent District Jail Bhaderwah, Hamid Ullah Naik.
During the session, experts from the Health Department, including Dr. Tahir Muneeb Zargar and Dr. Nasir Masood Indrabi, provided detailed demonstrations and hands on training on BLS and CPR techniques.
The participants were educated about emergency lifesaving procedures, timely response during cardiac arrest, and the importance of immediate CPR in saving precious lives.
The experts also sensitized the inmates and jail staff regarding the practical aspects of handling medical emergencies until professional medical assistance becomes available.
Speaking on the occasion, Superintendent District Jail Bhaderwah, Hamid Ullah Naik, appreciated the efforts of the Health Department for organizing the awareness and training programme.
He emphasized that such initiatives are highly beneficial in equipping inmates and staff with essential lifesaving skills and creating awareness about emergency healthcare response within the institution.
The participants actively took part in the practical demonstrations and expressed gratitude to the organizing teams for conducting the informative and skill based training session.
