GGM Science College Jammu celebrates Teachers’ Day-cum-Freshers’ Party with enthusiasm

JAMMU, Sep 5:  The Postgraduate Department of Geography, GGM Science College Jammu Jammuorganized a colourful and memorable Teachers’ Day-cum-Freshers’ Party to celebrate the spirit of teaching and learning and to warmly welcome the newly admitted P.G students to the department.

The programme was organized in a joyful and enthusiastic atmosphere in the presence of the Principal of the College, Prof (Dr,) Romesh Gupta along with all the faculty members of the Department of Geography.

The event was aimed at celebrating the invaluable contribution of teachers in the academic and personal development of students while simultaneously providing a warm and friendly platform for interaction and bonding among the freshers, senior students, and faculty members.

The programme commenced with a warm welcome to the Principal, faculty members, and newly admitted students.

The gathering reflected the strong academic and professional ethos of the Department of Geography, where students are encouraged not only to excel academically but also to develop confidence, leadership qualities, social responsibility, and a broader understanding of the world around them.

The highlight of the programme was the motivational and inspirational address delivered by the Principal of the College.

Welcoming the freshers to the postgraduate programme, the Principal congratulated them on beginning a new phase of their academic journey in one of the best Department of Geography in North India infrastructure wise  and encouraged them to approach their studies with dedication, discipline, curiosity, and a positive mindset.

The Principal of the college emphasized that postgraduate education provides students with an opportunity to move beyond conventional classroom learning and develop deeper knowledge, analytical abilities, research aptitude, and independent thinking. 

In his motivational message,  the Principal further encouraged the students to believe in themselves and to never hesitate to face challenges.

Speaking on the occasion of Teachers’ Day, the Principal also highlighted the immense importance of teachers in shaping the future of individuals as well as society.

He observed that teachers play a multidimensional role in the lives of students—as educators, mentors, guides, motivators, and role models.

The occasion provided an opportunity for students to express their gratitude and appreciation towards their teachers for their continuous guidance and support.

The faculty members of the Department of Geography were acknowledged for their commitment to teaching, mentoring, and nurturing the students.
