THANNAMANDI, Aug 6: The Cultural and Literary Activity Committee of Government Degree College (GDC) Thannamandi organized a vibrant Seminar on the Role of J&K Youth in Making Viksit Bharat @2047 as part of the series of activities being conducted to celebrate Independence Day.
The event was held under the guidance of the college Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Shamim Ahmed Azad, with the objective of fostering patriotic values, national integration, and a strong sense of civic responsibility among students.
The seminar centered on the theme “Role of J&K Youth in Making Viksit Bharat @2047,” witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and faculty members, encouraging participants to share their ideas and perspectives on nation-building.
In the competition, Mehak Fatima (Semester III) secured the First Position, followed by Uzma Dar (Semester I) and Mohd. Shoib (Semester III), who jointly secured the Second Position, while Mustafa (Semester I) bagged the Third Position.The performances were evaluated by a distinguished panel of judges comprising Prof. Supriya Gupta, Prof. Rumy Dar, and Prof. Yasmine Koser.
Dr. Nagina Kousser conducted efficiently the proceedings of the programme. A key highlight of the event was the insightful address delivered by Dr. Gulshan Rashid, Convener of the Cultural and Literary Activity Committee, who formally welcomed the gathering and spoke in detail on the Role of J&K Youth in Making Viksit Bharat @2047, inspiring students to contribute actively towards the nation’s progress.
The programme was attended and coordinated by faculty members and committee members, including Prof. Fatima Parveen, Prof. Rumy Dar, Prof Rizwana kousar, Dr. Mohd. Ashrif, Prof. Yasmine Koser, and Dr. Shazia Paswal.
The event concluded with a formal Vote of Thanks proposed by Dr. Mohd. Ashrif, who expressed sincere gratitude to the Principal, the organizing committee, the judges, faculty members, and the participating students for their wholehearted support in making the event a grand success.
